Bubbles Issue about datamaps

Ah, yeah. Since the request to get the map data is async, the timing needs to be addressed.

You can address this by waiting to add the bubbles in the done callback which you can define and pass in your options.

It'd be like:

var map = new Datamap({
  //all your options
 done: function( datamap ) {
    datamap.bubbles([{...}], bubbleOptions)
 }
});

I've tested this, so I'm going to close the issue. Reopen it if my recommendation didn't work.

Hi there @markmarkoh, I was hitting the same async problem and got the answer in this thread. If you recon this should be the correct way to create the bubbles I can create a PR to change the documentation.

From:

var bombMap = new Datamap({  });
var bombs = [{}]

//draw bubbles for bombs
bombMap.bubbles(bombs, {})

To

var bombs = [{}]

var bombMap = new Datamap({
   //all your options
   done: function( datamap ) {
      datamap.bubbles([{...}], bombs)
   }
 });
