Hi, it would help me if you could provide your greg.conf
, and the sequence of commands that take you to this situation: greg add...
, greg check...
, then greg download...
.
Thanks,
Manolo
from greg.
Well, I probably should have waited until today before I posted this issue because lack of sleep dulled my ability to understand simple things. I am embarrassed that I have wasted your time.
I followed the examples in the README, which unfortunately did not work as I expected.
The History of Philosophy Feedburner feed simply does not work and produces the aforementioned errors. Also their RSS xml feed is broken I think. In any case, maybe this feed should be removed from your tutorial.
The Philosophy Bites feed includes text posts, which in turn are included in the greg check
command. Obviously this causes some greg download
commands to error. The Philosophy Bites feed that has only media is http://www.philosophybites.libsyn.com/rss not http://philosophybites.com/atom.xml. I realize this is normal for some feeds and unavoidable, I suppose I expected greg to only show results with media enclosures, or at least mark them in the output of greg check
.
I tested a few other feeds and they work fine. Specifically:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/WelcomeToNightVale
http://feed.nashownotes.com/rss.xml
http://feeds.feedburner.com/linuxoutlaws-ogg
http://escapepod.org/feed/
http://www.philclassics.libsyn.com/rss
http://feeds.feedburner.com/partiallyexaminedlife/blog?format=xml
So...I opened this (non)issue prematurely, but maybe the tutorial should be revised a bit for new (or over-tired) users. Closing and sorry for the bother.
