Public statistics server for Mailu

Mailu is a simple yet full-featured mail server as a set of Docker images. It is free software (both as in free beer and as in free speech), open to suggestions and external contributions. The project aims at providing people with an easily setup, easily maintained and full-featured mail server while not shipping proprietary software nor unrelated features often found in popular groupware.

Contributing

Mailu is free software, open to suggestions and contributions. All components are free software and compatible with the MIT license. All specific configuration files, Dockerfiles and code are placed under the MIT license.

stats's Issues

Implement a lighter server

We need something lighter for the statistics server than loading all scapy inside python :) This could serve as more than a statistics server for Mailu, but as a statistics server for anyone who would like to count instances of a project yet not reveal where these are located.

Provide code snippets for various technologies

If we want this to be used by other projects, and say, improve on the privacy side of statistic reports for projects that do not need details passed the number of instances and maybe versions, it would be nice to provide code snippets for various languages in order to implement the client side.

Implement a proper backend

We need to write the data to a proper backend, ie. probably a SQL database given the current status.

The structure would be simple :

• instances, with latest sight date and version
• sightings with versions

Implement a Web interface

We need a simple Web interface that provides visual clues of the size of the Mailu network as it is discovered.
