Schedule for the masters thesis about mastersthesis

Patrick sagt:

The schedule is reasonable, however the second half (after the midterm
presentation) is missing. I recommend to make a complete schedule so that you
have an overview over all necessary tasks.

What is missing from the schedule and what I recommend to do before starting the
evaluation is a theoretical analysis of the different schemes of synchronization
between threads and between threads and scheduler in order to check permission
to execute an event.

The selection of benchmark programs is probably a separate task on its own.
Additionally to the already implemented benchmarks we should consider benchmarks
that allow speed-up analysis by enabling more threads and cores (for benchmarks
that work on tasks that can be spread on a variable number of threads).

We should discuss each task in person and adapt the plan during the course of
your thesis. To do so I recommend a regular meeting, e.g., each Wednesday.
Meetings upon request are also possible but in my experience students tend to go
in a wrong direction during extended periods without meeting.
