The README has some examples and a list of methods. To list containers you can use LXC.list_containers. I'm not sure what you mean by "connect to a remote lxc node".

You can derive all of the methods by reading https://github.com/lxc/ruby-lxc/blob/master/ext/lxc/lxc.c . As far as interacting with remote nodes, I assume you mean interacting with LXC hosts on different machines (not just localhost). Such RPC functionality isn't built into the LXC API AFAIK, so you'd have to use the ruby-friendly RPC system of your choice, like (shameless plug) https://github.com/br0ch0n/mcollective-lxc-agent
