Hi @siw1973 this must trigger the reading of the messages via automation or in the service itself.

Ahhhh..... I was hoping this was a Holy Grail of reading stored Videos/Images on the device.

If the watch is lost or broken then all of the images are lost.

My son takes pictures and videos with friends which aren't Sent via messages and just sit on the device.

I was hoping to extract them and store them so he can access them on other devices.

@siw1973 If they where not then, they are now.
They are stored locally in HA. if you check the samples/markdown-card-read-messages.md
Then you will see that it is stored in local.
E.g

* https://<ha-instance>/local/voice/<id_of_recording>.mp3
* https://<ha-instance>/local/image/<id_of_image.jpeg

@Caine72

Are you referring to Xplora Message Images / Videos / Voice ? I understand that these can be extracted. I was looking for a transfer of Images / Videos that HAVE NOT been sent as a message but are on the Xplora.

I'm running a HASSOS VM and I have nothing in the image, video or voice folders under /root/config/www.

Am I missing something ?

Yes, I was referencing what has been sent.
I. e. It has passed through Xploras servers.
Did not read your question throughly. Sorry for that.

I doubt Xploras public APIs will ever allow direct device storage access without them providing some official backup service as well.
But maybe they do? Have you been in contact with their Support?

I had an issue where the accounts were messed up and the first line support person told me to do something and without thinking it through I did it and it wiped the whole watch...... She then put me onto second line and they retain "some" historical data but not images and videos.

As you can imagine, my son was none to happy with me, I asked about Backup and they said not at this time and not on the Road Map unfortunately.

TBH it's a bit rubbish having a device that is inherently worn by children, who are not the most careful of individuals, that takes photos and videos, that are probably more precious to them than adults, which then cannot be backed up.

It is what it is and the watch is a god send on holidays and allows our son so much more freedom and therefore us more relaxation of not having to follow him round the complexes.
