This repository houses the material and Jupyter notebooks associated with the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope Corporation (LSSTC) Data Science Fellowship Program (DSFP).

The LSSTC DSFP is a two year training program designed to teach skills required for LSST science that are not easily addressed by current astrophysics programs. The program consists of three, one-week schools per year over a two year period.

The LSSTC Data Science Fellowship Program is a supplement to graduate education in astronomy, intended to teach astronomy students essential skills for dealing with big data.

nbstripout or auto-formatting

In my own projects with tutorials and jupyter notebooks, I like to use pre-commit to run nbstripout to remove notebook metadata and cell output to clean up git diffs and the version control history. I also now use black (again with pre-commit) to apply auto-formatting to the notebook cells.

Would you be open to a PR that sets this up for the Session16 notebooks?

pymc3 Updates breaks older notebooks

As a note: updates to pymc3 have broken older notebooks without obvious (to a beginner at least) solutions. I'd suggest dropping pointers to updated curricula where appropriate.

Timing issue viz session

Can we move the visualizing images thing to Thursday or Friday? I am running the MAST User's Group across the street Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mistake in total series fourier formula?

In the notebook of Session 13: Introduction To Fourier Series And Transforms.

It seems that the constant term in the formula (2) should be a0/2 and not a0 ?
Is it correct ?
