Compilation error when running scripts/prepare.sh about sosd

Hello!

I'm not sure why GCC5 doesn't want to accept a const char[] as a template argument, or why the lookup function isn't matching the template...

These instructions suggest that you can install GCC9 on 16.04: https://askubuntu.com/a/1087116

I'm able to build successfully with GCC9 and GCC8. My distro (Arch) doesn't package anything below that. I'll try building GCC7 / 6 / 5 from source and seeing if that works. We should definitely list the minimum required version! :)

Won't build with GCC 6.5.0, looks like GCC 7 is when they fixed the bug that prevented const char[] from being a template argument. It will build with 7.5.0. I'll mark this as the minimum version.
