I had the same problem and figured it out. There's a "console.log" called and that causes an error in IE8. You can easily remove the line in the source code.

Hi, I still had this problem on IE8.
If it help someone I solve checking the elm.css("margin-top") because on IE8 it does parseInt("auto") is NaN instead 0. Then:
top = elm.offset().top - (isNaN(parseInt(elm.css("margin-top"), 10)) ? 0 : parseInt(elm.css("margin-top"), 10)) - offset_top;
