Thank you! We'll take a look.
from realismoverhaul.
When I initially wrote these I modeled the Mk1 on Mercury, and the Mk1-2 on Apollo. Thus the Mk1 doesn't need to be in space very long, and just has batteries (13.5kWh). The Mk1-2, on the other hand, is expected to be in space for a long time, and thus must depend on either solar panels or fuel cells; for that reason, only a reserve battery capacity is necessary (3.4kWh).
The landers IRL didn't use fuel cells, thus they got batteries.
Since we now actually have Mercury and Apollo hardware, it might be worth reconsidering just whether / to what the Mk1 and Mk1-2 should be repurposed...

@NathanKell : Aaah! That makes sense. It also feels thematic that I'm adding a service module with TACLS fuel cells to my MK1-2 craft, although I don't know if those cells have been rebalanced for the new TACLS changes.
I presume¹ 3.4kWh is enough for reentry. ;)
I'm happy enough with the stock craft mirroring their RL equivalents; I use them over the Mercury/Apollo capsules primarily because I keep forgetting essential parts on the RL capsules, which results in fun².

This may have nothing to do with RO, but I can't for the life of me get the Mk1-2 pod or the Mk1 pod to start with ElectricCharge, which is odd, because the Mercury re-entry module and the Gemini cabin are working just fine, as are the stock lander cans.
As far as I can tell, nothing else is touching ElectricCharge. And I presume resources on a part still get used even if there's a MFT for that part, because that's what's happening with the landing cans.
If you can spot anything that's obviously going wrong here, I'd love to know about it. As I said, this may not be an RO issue at all, but something is causing at least some of RO's changes to not be applied.
Many thanks!

Hahahah I'm stupid.
We added ServiceModules. ServiceModules can contain ElectricCharge. Therefore resources outside the modulefueltank are ignored. Like, oh, the 46k electric charge.
So we need larger ServiceModule tanks, and one of the TANKs should be the appropriate amount of ElectricCharge.
Sorry for totally missing this consequence!

Hooray! I'm so glad this has been found. :)
I've noticed 76dffea has been committed; after my run I'll install this and see how things go. :)
You rock!
