The issue can, for now, be solved by writing this instead, with an !, as we know signIn will never actually be undefined.

await signIn!('[email protected]', '12345');

We're working on a fix for this in the next version!

react-sanctum 2.1.0 has been released!
If you update, you can now replace this:

const { signIn } = React.useContext(SanctumContext);
...
await signIn!('[email protected]', '12345');

with this:

const { signIn } = useSanctum();
...
await signIn('[email protected]', '12345');
