This happens (I think) because line 208 of math.js calls tmplFilter on each hint without checking if it matches the tmplExpr.

I'm not sure this is the right way to fix it. It seems to me that tmplFilter should be called only on data-if, data-else elements, is that right?

If there's a better way, then go ahead, and don't keep the issue closed on my account--I just needed the error gone quickly to be able to write exercises :P
