My name is Kenzie MacKinnon I am a 2nd year Masters Student in the Department of Medical Neuroscience at Dalhousie University. My interests include Brain Computer Interfaces as well as open source tools for academic writing. Done classes in Java and computer modelling of equations in python.
- lab-analysis (WIP) a couple scripts with functions relating to analysis I am doing in my Masters degree looking at Electromyographic (EMG) and Kinematic data.
- Neovim and iTerm2 workflow not anything special in terms of programming but is nice for launching file with Alfred.
- My Podcast we interview STEM students at my university about their experiences in research, industry, etc.
A good chunk of the apps here can be installed as casks by Homebrew with brew install --cask <app name>

- Rectangle is a very powerful window manager with widow snapping similar to windows.
- Skim is an excellent pdf reader with great annotation features.
- Zotero citation manager that I use generally as it has great integration with lots of apps such as LibreOffice, Word and Google docs.
- Bibdesk MacOS citation managers that works with .bib files, which I like using when using separate bibliographies on a paper by paper basis.
- iTerm2 is an excellent terminal emulator with many functions not present in apple terminal.
- MonitorControl can control the brightness of all screens you are using. Great if using a monitor.
- Bitwarden excellent password manager to use across devices.
- IINA media player made for macos.
- UTM MacOS centric virtual machine app to run windows and linux distros.
- Karabiner excellent utility for keyboard customization.
- Amethyst An automatic tiling window manager made for MacOS.
- AppCleaner is a great utility for completely deleting apps on your computer.
- CheastSheet holding down the command ⌘ key will show you all the available keyboard shortcuts for an app.
- Neovim Vim-fork focused on extensibility and usability.
- Tmux a terminal multiplexer I use to manage windows.
- fzf a command line fuzzy finder. I use it in conjunction with tmux, neovim and rga.
- ripgrep-all is ripgrep for most commonly used filetypes. I use it in conjunction with fzf to search all document in my directory for key words when doing research.
- Pandoc is a tool I use to convert markdown files to various file types for submission.
