Hi @dennissimmo !

I get your idea, you want to be able to shrink grid items width while dragging, depending on the minimalWidth variable.
Okay so, let's continue your example, you have moved the element 7 to the right-top edge, and it has shrinked. What about if you move it again to the initial position? does it grow to its initial size, or it keeps shrinked as it is now? Just for knowing if your feature request has only shrinking width option or variable width in general.

Right now it seems more a 'niche' feature. But let's see.

It should grow to its original size, which is how your algorithm works now, i.e. it gets to its maximum width until it intersects with one of the modules.
