yeah, let's not mess about.
I'd probably invert the lite and the circle, for when it goes down to favicon size so that the orange punches harder.
We can also have a loading icon, with a "dark" bulb.
I'll do some looks.

it's unreadable in the favicon (no surprise) but it I do like it.

So some other things we could try:
- get rid of (or offer a variant without) the "lite" word
- do a monochrome one
- grab a (or some) different colors from the stock ones
- it's hard to pair with the orange, though maybe the purple
- deploy it as a LabIcon in the application layer
- make that the canonical source for the icon, vs docs

Really like the one with the canary / yellow color too!
Wondering whether the black part would render well with the dark theme though?

When used in-theme, we can make it work with the semantic classnames...

Been a spell here, but how do we feel about making a badge folk can use to link to their demos?
So it'd look something like this in the Badge Bar:
I'm not married to the copy... and indeed, we could probably make a clever little notebook for the docs site that could build custom badges as data URIs, as well (easiest in JS, perhaps)...

Sounds good! The yellow color also makes it quite visible compared to the usual green / blue / red badges

The logo looks so cool! I thought the left padding of the badge could be increased a little bit, so I played around with the badge svg using some other badges as templates. Here are some unsolicited suggestions.
Some minor changes:
- Increased paddings around the logo and text (use somewhat similar padding as the binder and github badge)
- Made the rounded corner more "regular" (it is the same as the github badge now)
- Made the light bulb slightly smaller (same height as the the github and binder logo now)
- Changed the text color of "jl" in the light bulb and "lite now"
- Changed the opacity and position of the text shadow (same as the binder and github badge)
The color changes are probably not necessary, but I think larger paddings make the badge looks better.
Here is the modified svg (4kb):

Thanks @xiaohk for sharing this!
Agree it looks pretty nice too, for example on your README next to the Binder badge:
Maybe we could also provide that version, next to https://github.com/jupyterlite/jupyterlite/blob/main/docs/_static/badge.svg?
