Looks like a GLMakie.jl issue. Does using GLMakie then scatter(rand(5)) work?

You can run the Molly tests without visualisation using ENV["VISTESTS"] = "0" before ]test Molly.

Probably worth raising an issue on the Makie.jl repo then with your Julia version and OS info.
