Actually, either import
or using
should be fine. import
makes the package itself available, and using
also puts all exported functions in the current namespace. But GZip.open()
works the same in either case--both require the GZip
qualifier--and all of the other IO functions work with (EDIT:) include import
because they exist in Main
's namespace already.
If you prefer to use gzopen
, either
import GZip
GZip.gzopen("myfile.gz")
or
using GZip
gzopen("myfile.gz")
will work.
I prefer import GZip
in this case so as to not pollute the Main
's namespace, but it really doesn't matter much.
