Support for Pi Zero W about electric

I tried and it powers up and able to set up wifi settings, but it will not connect to the icharger. Tried it multiple time and 2 different pi zero w.

I kinda think that the Pi Zero W will work. I suspect that the code just checks for a Pi 3. I was going to look into it but haven't had a chance yet. Also not sure if the wifi range on the Pi zero is as strong as the Pi 3B.

There’s no “check” for a pi3. The issue is more one of supporting multiple pieces of hardware. If for example the Wifi configuration needs to be different, then we then have two things to keep up to date / test, if we make changes or modifications. So the motivation for staying with pi3 isn’t because it’s hard, or the W can’t necessarily “do it”. Rather it’s to make changes / testing and implementation easier. It’s because this is very part time (at least for me), and I have little enough time as it is. I don’t mean for the above to sound …. whiney. More just providing my perspective. Oh: the wifi interface must support running two interfaces on a single channel (there’s a technical name for this, can’t remember what it’s called now). Not all Wifi hardware can do this. This is key to supporting the joining of a home network while also continuing to advertise a private network. If the W has a different Wifi chip that doesn’t do that bit, then, well, someone much smarter than me would need to find a workaround. So there ya go!
