I just deleted my local copy of the repo, recloned it, and followed the instructions in the readme. Everything worked fine.

The error you are seeing can happen if you go to localhost:8080 in the browser, instead of localhost:5000 (like it says in the readme).

Okay that's a new error in your latest screenshot. So we might have solved the first issue, and are onto the next one.

The error in your most recent screenshot indicates that you might not have run npm run serve inside of the app1 directory. To boot up all of the microfrontends, you must run npm run serve inside of each of the directories. Four terminal tabs (see docs).

The way you can verify if app1's server is running is by going directly to http://localhost:8080/app.js in a browser tab. If you get a js file, everything is working. If not, your npm run serve command isn't running.
