Is this a repeatable issue? I.e. does it happen every time? I suspect this may be more of a packer issue, rather than something specific to packer-windows. If it is repeatable, can you run packer in debug mode and then post the log?

I had this error today and that was my issue

@lmayorga1980 are you running on a Windows host? Was it a reproducible issue with hardware virtualization disabled in BIOS? If so, it should be reported as a Packer issue, as VMDK corruption is definitely in the realm of things Packer should help you avoid.

@JC1738 I see you commented on hashicorp/packer#482 - I would suggest opening a new Packer issue and describing the steps used to reproduce the issue.

@joefitzgerald A friend of mine was trying to use packer on a windows host today and we had to enable virtualization BIOS setting in order to get it work.

@JC1738 Is this still an issue? I see you reported a Packer crash log (hashicorp/packer#856) for unexpected EOF (which I occasionally see in our CI builds). It seems like this issue is Packer-related also. If it is reproducible or you have seen it again, you might want to create a Packer issue.

It was still an issue, last attempt, I will retry and create a Packer issue
with logs.
