I am not able to reproduce this both with online version and desktop app.
Please attach a video showing all the steps and the results.

Tested and right mouse click > Paste here feezes drawio desktop for a couple of seconds.
The same is for diagrams.net online (didn't get the "Error, too much recursion" in on the latest Chrome Version 104.0.5112.102 (Official Build) (64-bit)
If you paste it with Ctrl+V, does it help? It does the trick at my place

I get the same behavior with mouse click > Paste as with Ctrl + V.
