Well, already found a mistake in my analysis. It seems portconf_id isn't necessarily <device_id>, sometimes it is, sometimes its something else that I haven't identified the source of yet, and it can be shared between multiple switches. need to work out the specifics of portconf_id

Ok, that fork should include everything needed to change the objects, all that is to bang out a quick controller.updateAccessDevice() function to shoot accessDevice._device.port_overrides back to the controller at https://unifi:8443/api/s/default/rest/device/${accessDevice._device._id} . It's too late at night for me to want to go about risking screwing something up on my controller tonight so I'll save that for another day.

It looks like some of this is outside the scope of this project. I have submitted pull requests for what is within scope so the parts of this that are relevant to node-unifi will be finished once something like #18 is merged. If someone else finds this and wants to see the object management/generation side of things I have started a new project at https://github.com/jacobalberty/node-unifi-settings .
