That didn't work for me :-/
Trying: status:enum['Pending','Generating','Failed','Complete']"
Error:
{"error":{"type":"ErrorException","message":"Undefined offset: 1","file":"..........\vendor\way\generators\src\Way\Generators\Generators\MigrationGenerator.php","line":193}}
Line 193: $bit->type = $columnInfo[1];
Ran it without the bracketed data and it it actually executed!?
Result in migration is this: $table->enum('status'); # error
This: , status:enum:aaaaaaaaaa
Produces: $table->enum('status')->aaaaaaaaaa();
Not sure what else to try :-/

@christoferd did you ever resolve the issue with enums? I am curious because I am running into this same issue now.
php artisan generate:migration topic --fields="title:string[45], content:text, status:enum['active','hidden']"
-- [ErrorException] Undefined offset: 1
from laravel-4-generators.
One of the first things I noticed about the migration generator. This is as close as I can get; edit the migration after to fix up:
php artisan generate:migration create_foo_table --fields="somefield';array('ABC';'DEF';'GHI':enum:nullable:default('GHI')
which gives
$table->enum('somefield';array('ABC';'DEF';'GHI'')->nullable()->default('GHI');

In my experience it has been much easier to keep the command line options simple, and update the migration file manually.
