I don't understand what the issue is. If you're using the asset pipeline, then you shouldn't be copying or moving files to the public folder, you should be using the asset pipeline.

You shouldn't be running the install rake task if you're using the asset pipeline. According to the readme, only run the install rake task if you're using Rails 3.0 (i.e. no asset pipeline).

No prob. In jquery-ujs, I made the install rake script output to the console that it doesn't need to be run when the asset pipeline is enabled. Perhaps I'll do that with remotipart as well so there's less room for confusion. Thanks for reporting this.

I've submitted a pull request to add a small bit of functionality so that remotipart follows rails 3.1 conventions with the asset pipeline :)
