ajaxError fires under normal conditions about remotipart

That isn't normal behavior, nor have I heard of this happening for anyone else. The ajax:aborted:file is a custom event triggered by jquery-ujs that happens before the ajax request is even made, so it has nothing to do with jquery's ajaxError callback which only happens if an ajax request receives an erroneous response from the server.

Looking further, I think the cause is a syntax error, as my server is outputting HTML rather than JS, but something is assuming it's JS. Is there any way to request an HTML response?
