I've been engaged in both recreational and academic development for the past six years, and I've transitioned to professional development in the last two. I first entered the scene because coding seemed like a fun way to make my life easier. This ranged from me learning web-scraping to get piano sheet music, to figuring out how to use cloud microservices to host simple discord bots, and also optical recognition to track my friends in games.
I'm currently a developer at UBC's Housing Research Collaborative. Navigating the role of the lone software developer in a research group, I've become adept at tackling diverse challenges. With no direct guidance, the responsibility to develop effective and efficient solutions with the various requests has been a constant challenge. This unique position has pushed me to master the art of effective and rapid domain-specific research, ensuring my work well-aligned with the dynamic needs of our research initiatives.
