After looking into the code of signals.cs, I understood it only for windows signal handling.

that's really annoying, cause look of modules are importing signal.

I'm thinking out loud here:

maybe checking the os.name == 'posix' and issue a warning that signals are not supported.
Edit: or even better, found how todo it in C# runtime
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/721161/how-to-detect-which-net-runtime-is-being-used-ms-vs-mono

see Can I use signal handlers with Mono? in http://www.mono-project.com/FAQ:_Technical
maybe someone can help me implement something that will check if it's running on Mono and use it's signal handling code ? (my C# is rustier then my Python...)
