Closing this... I see the js event lister growing without any action. I don't know what the problem ist. But I can't say anymore if this is the Ionic Animation. Weird... Maybe an Angular thing. Maybe only in dev mode. No time / not in mood to debug. Sorry for disturbing.

Can you provide a reproduction I can run? I'm not able to reproduce this on my end.

Also it would be good to check if the event listeners are cleaned up after a delay. Garbage collection won't happen as soon as the animation ends, so it might be worth manually running garbage collection to verify that collection isn't just delayed.
