Hmm... it seems to have lost my distinction between "" and "*" sections. It's a shame that initial | is required... more data entry - was that the formatting error?

Yes.

Some times, you want to add a label to each chapter, like this:

* 1 | Introduction | 1
** 1.1 | Getting Started | 2

Sure, but, there's no | between the * and the 1 in that example. And, it's not respecting my sections if I don't have a chapter label.
