We don't have an example - but you can use the standard JWT security token handler.

What do you mean with built-in - Web API v1 did not have built-in support for that.

You'd write a MessageHandler to inspect incoming requests and then validate the tokens.

you probably can use the Thinktecture IdentityModel AuthenticationHandler library for that...

We are using the API Documentation Area project, and apparently it doesn't work with the OWIN version (am I told).

well it does - but you need MVC in addition.
