You requested scopes must include openid to be able to access the userinfo endpoint.

I noticed that "accesstokenvalidation" endpoint works well in resource owner flow and results all registered claims of the subject. This seems almost identical with what userinfo endpoint does on this aspect.
So should it be wise to use such a scenario on resource owner flow,to use reference token, get claims information for client consumption by requesting validation endpoint and update the userinfo obj according to resulting json.

The validation endpoints simply validate a token and return its contents. The userinfo endpoint returns user profile data (based on the openid scopes in the acccess token).

While this might look similar - they are different use cases.
