Yes, copy can work.

Unfortunately that isn't possible. What I can do instead is add option to import icon as symbol. It will be the same as importing icon and converting it to symbol. Then it will show up in assets and you can drag it from there.

Symbols are good but still, you need to place them in the proper place. How about copy icon? then pasting will be more controllable by the designer.

So bad news - I can't get copy to work. Sometimes it works, but most of time it doesn't.

Instead of that I changed behaviour of "Add Icon" button. Icon will be inserted into currently selected group. If current layer is not a group, it will be inserted into current layer's parent layer. It will also be placed in top middle of parent layer.

Will that work?
