Thanks! It is - The datepicker component has intentionally had its ViewEncapsulation set to none to allow styles to be overridden. This Stack Overflow question should help with the syntax. I'll try and get an example of this in the documentation soon as I imagine it will be a frequent question. Hope that helps!

Nice @IckleChris , easy enough to add custom styles.

I've added the following to a global scss file in my project, works like a charm.

@include md-core();

.form-row {
    .ic-datepicker-container .ic-datepicker {
        .ic-datepicker-header-bar {
            background: md-color($primary);
            .header-title:not(.year-title):hover,
            .cell.action:hover {
                background: md-color($primary, 900);    
            }
        }
        .cell.selected {
            background: md-color($primary);
            border-color: md-color($primary);
        }
    }
}

I've wrapped the ic related style rules in form-row class to make sure they got prioritized.
