Hi all,
As maxitems in container content elements are handled by EXT:container itself, I kindly ask you to reopen this issue in their repository (of this is still an issue for you). Thank you very much for your understanding.

Same here while using TYPO 10.4.26, content_defender 3.2.2, container 1.5.0., no gridelements.
When setting a maxitems' => '1', in addition to an 'allowed' => ['CType' => 'textmedia'], I got this error. Without 'allowed' it works as expected.
