eudev about minirc

I believe mdev requires the xorg-input-{keyboard,mouse}.

I've stopped using Arch at home, so I can't speak to the eudev problem. Some light searching indicates that mdev has a problem with Xorg's probing for drivers and xorg-server needs to be rebuilt without udev to make it work properly.

Most of arches packages now depend on systemd. Eudev clashes with systemd
so not install. Mdev allows me to start X bt have no keyboard or mouse.
Mdev like a boss is my next port of call.

Reading Gentoos wiki looks like I need devpts in fstab.

Not going to be able to be systemd free but certainly if I can get mdev
working I will not technically need it...

I have installed eudev, eudev-systemdcompat, dbus-nosystemd and gvfs-nosystemd from the aur. Works fine.

How did you remove systemd?

If i remember right, remove eudev dependency from eudev-systemdcompat and install it. Then install again, this time with the eudev dependency. A bit weird, but worked well for me.

I figured out that:

pacman -Rdd systemd

Managed to get eudev installed only to find eudev-systemdcompat failed as package is out of date.... (217 not 218 as repos) ;-)

Finally have eudev and eudev-systemd-compat installed ;-) yay!
