It's actually really easy with node:

$ node -pe "require('os').networkInterfaces()"

     { address: '::1', family: 'IPv6', internal: true } ],
  en1:

     { address: '192.168.1.141', family: 'IPv4', internal: false } ] }

What you're asking for makes a lot of sense, and it can probably be added quite easily.
