UPDATE:
I noticed "time jump backward" messages in dmesg output on the HA OS hosted on VMWare.
It led me to check vSphere and ESXi host time sync and they were off by 1:03 in the future.
After forcing an update to pool.ntp.org NTP reference servers, I do not see any jump in HA stats nor message in dmesg.
I don't understand the mechanic behind the HA VM syncing randomly its clock to the ESXi host and back but it looks it was happening that way.
So the solution was simply to make sure vSphere and ESXi host were in sync with NTP.
PS: ESXi always show its time in UTC, don't panic :-p
