Hi,
Thanks for noting this issue! This misbehaviour was caused by a bug introduced in the latest update, which bug broke the models without latent factor levels. I have made a fix and uploaded it to the repo.
from hmsc.
I downgraded the package to v3.0-13 to make my scripts work.
devtools::install_github("hmsc-r/HMSC", ref = "v3.0-13")
However, this version was released quite a long time ago (19 months). I am unsure how much the functionality of Hmsc has changed since then. I appreciate it if it is possible to solve this issue for the most recent Hmsc version.

Thanks @gtikhonov .
I confirm that this has solved the issue for the above simulation.
