bbc-news-scraper icon bbc-news-scraper

News-Content-Collect-and-Storeapplication to crawl articles on a news website such as theguardian.com or bbc.com using a crawler framework such as Scrapy. You can use a crawl framework of your choice and build the application in Python.

bike_share_analysis icon bike_share_analysis

In this project, you will make use of Python to explore data related to bikeshare systems for three major bikeshare systems in the United States. You will perform data wrangling to unify the format of data from the three systems and write code to compute descriptive statistics. You will also make use of a package that is not part of the standard Python library to help you visualize the data. If you are not familiar with the data analysis process, this project will be your first exposure to the kinds of steps that a data analyst takes when they approach a dataset. The steps of the process that you go through here will be covered in more depth as you continue on with the Nanodegree program. For now, all you need is the general programming skills you've learned from the "Introduction to Python Programming" course and a desire to learn about the data analysis process! Note that you may not have seen some of the packages used in the project prior to this point, so you should be comfortable with following documentation links and experimenting with code to build your intuition for how to use the packages to solve the problems posed.

churn-modelling icon churn-modelling

build model for predicting the future possibility of customers leaving the bank

disaster-response-pipeline icon disaster-response-pipeline

In this project,we analyze disaster data from Figure Eight to build a model for an API that classifies disaster messages.

p7-wrangle-and-analyze-data icon p7-wrangle-and-analyze-data

In this project, you'll gather, assess, and clean data then act on it through analysis, visualization and/or modeling.

p8-creat-a-tablue-story icon p8-creat-a-tablue-story

For this project, you will create a data visualization using Tableau that tells a story or highlights trends or patterns in a data set. Your work should be a reflection of the theory and practice of data visualization, such as visual encodings, design principles, and effective communication.

test-a-perceptual-phenomenon-project icon test-a-perceptual-phenomenon-project

In this project, you will investigate a classic phenomenon from experimental psychology called the Stroop Effect. You will learn a little bit about the experiment, create a hypothesis regarding the outcome of the task, then go through the task yourself. You will then look at some data collected from others who have performed the same task and will compute some statistics describing the results. Finally, you will interpret your results in terms of your hypotheses.

tic-tac-toe-sokets icon tic-tac-toe-sokets

python programs that will allow two players to play the game of network tic-tac-toe.

write-a-data-science-blog-post-from-annual-developer-survey-data icon write-a-data-science-blog-post-from-annual-developer-survey-data

For this project, you will be creating a blog post and Github repository to begin building a data science portfolio of your own. You can gain some inspiration from Robert's posts here. Come up with three questions you are interested in answering. Extract the necessary data to answer these questions. Perform necessary cleaning, analysis, and modeling. Evaluate your results. Share your insights with stakeholders.
