Have a Look at ' https://fabscan.org/community/ ' and ' https://fabscan.org/community/hardware/my-fabscanpi-modifications-with-pictures/ ', if you did, ignore it ;-) .
To your resistor-issue I think Persons that don't know much about Raspi or other Controllers, should take hands off or ask before use.
