The way I will try to do this is to generate the images I want to be a gif with a transparent background. This way I can add the animatet BG aferwards. I hope this helps.

It would be nice to be able to add the gif layer in and just run the program and be able to set output from png to gif.

Hi all,

I was able to build a tool to do exactly this! it takes png layers and turns them into generative gifs. Its forked from an earlier version of hashlips but I plan to update it to a more recent version soon.
