This is done, just needs to be merged into the master branch and tagged with a new release.

Oh, and also add the correct settings and vagrant files to .gitignore so that they don't get committed back into the repo accidentally. #noteforself

Not a bad idea, I have actually been thinking about this same thing for a couple of days now.
Your suggestion is a good one, for a number of reasons. Not least of which is that Drupal devs will be used to the format of this sort of thing :)
Need to update this will some install instructions as well.
