Just to clarify, nothing too complex just:

function partial(f){
  var args = Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments, 1);

  return function(){
    return f.apply(null, args.concat(Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments)));

@dschenkelman couldn't you achieve that with either bind or async.apply?

@arb +1 for bind. We ended up getting rid of async to use items, but bind would work :)
