#224 is up on staging and will run our periodic jobs tonight. Will close tomorrow when we have confirmation that this is fixed.

I'm fairly certain that these errors are due to using ActiveJob rather than sidekiq directly. This may involve rolling back active job.

I am 100% OK with this, because all active job does in my experience is get in the way of sidekiq.
