You should always select your location from the autocomplete list. If you don't, the input field is shown red for a reason.

If you do not use a location from the list, you will get a QueryTripsResult.Status.AMBIGUOUS from the API which will give you from and to location in two steps. Please file a ticket with the PTE upstream library to get this fixed.
