Thanks for reporting. Could you provide us with more information on what the externalTask is doing e.g. what Ant task are you using/what native library are you loading? A reproducible example would be very useful for analyzing the root cause of your issue. Do you think you could put together a minimalistic sample project?

Hi Benjamin, I might have jumped the gun here. It turns out that the same issue occurs in 3.1 when running the entire build twice with the same daemon. Are you still interested?

The library is proprietary, so I'd need to spend quite an effort to create a minimalistic repro.

Thanks, that's good to know. I'd say let's investigate this more if it's really bothersome to you. Your call. Is this also happening for your build with 2.x plus the daemon enabled?

JavaExec spawns another process, so I don't see how it would leak classloaders. @astellingwerf is this still happening for you with recent Gradle versions?
