I also have a problem with missing/gray tiles on my Google Nexus 7 in Chrome 39 on Android 4.4.4. It works ok, until I rotate the device. Then, in portrait mode, tiles are missing on the right side. Doing a map.resize() does not help. I dont have this problem on the desktop. Any ideas what might be wrong? Some blog post suggested adding a apiKey, but it did not fix the problem.

Side note: with a map inside paper-action-dialog I'm also seeing missing tiles. My workaround is to do the maps resize trigger Eric mentioned in #33, with the caveat that it needs to be in a somewhat hacky setTimeout.

Closing as this is pre Polymer 1.0. Please reopen if you can still reproduce or want to see this implemented in the new element.
