This looks like a bug in the reflectable code generation step, thanks for reporting.

However, you might actually prefer to use the base language (avoiding all kinds of reflection) in order to get that behavior. This is possible by means of the enhanced kind of enum declarations that Dart introduced in version 2.17:

class Description {
  const Description(this.value);
  final String value;
}

enum Example {
  a("A"),
  b("B");

  final String description;
  const Example(this.description);
}

void main() {
  var val = Example.a;
  print(val.description.length); // 1
}

Then you don't have to wait for a bug fix.

I'm following another approach using interfaces and extension methods because as like C# I want it works in any kind of environment, specifically in generic functions/methods.
