I think it's better for links to be defined closer to where they are used, and intentionally changed things to follow that as I made changes.
It's too annoying to have to scroll down to the very bottom to see what a link is or to change it :)

Hm, we're on the opposite sides again! I think it's easier to click ctrl + end and jump into the end of the document. That also allows to re-use the same links again and again without scrolling for the nearest link block to confirm whether a particular link is defined in there or not.

I think the way to solve problems like this is a style guide. We could use Chrome's markdown guide (though it isn't really for jekyll but is probably applicable enough).
