which version/branch did you try to compile?
It seems to be a problem with bison/yacc which is likely caused by some
kind of version mismatch. Apparently, bison3 has been released a couple
of months ago.
You can try downgrading to bison2.7. Please report back if it solves the
issue.
I look into checking the bison version number more thoroughly.

Do you use the master branch? What versions of lex/flex & yacc/bison you have?
It works for me with gcc 4.7.3, flex 2.5.37 and bison 2.7.12. Looks like it may be problem in the new yacc/bison.

I pushed a fix which adds support for bison 3.0. Bison 2.7 is still supported.
